Workshops and trainings
For over 25 years, I have been committed to creating awareness and celebration of diversity to promote social change through trainings and public speaking in a variety of settings. It has been my goal to foster collective responsibility in which we unite together to create inclusive and respectful communities.
My trainings and workshops are focused on empowering service providers, mental health professionals, physicians, health care organizations, schools and universities with the knowledge and tools about gender and sexual diversity to create more inclusive environments and comprehensive care for the LGBTQ+ community.
Contact me to discuss your specific needs and areas of interest, and I will tailor a workshop or training to meet those goals.
“Jennifer brings a unique combination of qualities to her trainings and consultation: her knowledge of her material is superb, but her compassion and depth of engagement brings things to life. I admire her intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness and clinical skills. I am inspired by her connection and caring.”Barry Hill, LMFT
“Jennifer brings a wonderful combination of perceptiveness, aliveness, humility, transparency and genuine compassion to her presentations.”Craig Smith, Ph.D, LMFT
“Your presentation was powerful and extremely moving. You did a fabulous job engaging my graduate students in a heart-felt way that touched them deeply, while being very empowering for them as counselors and social justice agents. Several of my students gained significant understandings about the quality of their lives and issues discussed in the presentation. I highly recommend your presentations!”Nola Bulter Byrd, Ph.D
“Jennifer is extremely articulate, informed and passionate, and I would recommend her presentations to any and all. She recently spoke to one of my multicultural education classes and the students were spellbound from beginning to end. Jennifer Rickard is a tremendous speaker!”Jesús Nieto, Ph.D
“I greatly enjoy Jennifer’s trainings. Anybody can teach, but it is the way she conveys the lesson that makes a big difference. I appreciate Jennifer’s style of teaching, motivation, knowledge and patience. Thanks for everything!”Pastor Jesse

She is both engaging and informative!”Ma’at Crook
“I have had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a number of trainings led by Jennifer; trainings that continue to be the best I have ever attended. She is a tremendous speaker and captivated my interest with not only her personable and well-versed teaching style, but with her sincerity and compassion for the field. The information and experience gained from her trainings and consultations have assisted with a number of clients and have proven time and time again to be fruitful and successful. “My work with Jennifer has been a constant source of inspiration, motivation, encouragement and support. With her gentle, firm and down-to-earth approach, our clinical and research collaborations have been a success.”Pilar Hernandez-Wolfe, Ph.D
“Working at a community clinic, I was often referred clients of varying needs and goals. I quickly realized there was a sparse number of clinicians with adequate training for working specifically with the needs of trans youth and their families. I was fortunate enough to participate in an ongoing consultation group lead by Jennifer and was inspired by her passion, as well as the youth I was working with, to change this statistic. With her guidance, I broadened my knowledge and clinical skills working with trans youth and their families presenting with needs ranging from psychoeducation about resources and rights to gender therapy. I found Jennifer’s empathic approach inviting and her vast knowledge contributed to my clinical development and growth. I feel like a more knowledgeable and confident therapist since working with her. I would recommend Jennifer to any trainee, intern or licensed professional looking to broaden their understanding of working with individuals in the LGBTQ community.”Margaret Muranyi, M.A, MFTI
