Workshops and trainings

For over 25 years, I have been committed to creating awareness and celebration of diversity to promote social change through trainings and public speaking in a variety of settings. It has been my goal to foster collective responsibility in which we unite together to create inclusive and respectful communities.

My trainings and workshops are focused on empowering service providers, mental health professionals, physicians, health care organizations, schools and universities with the knowledge and tools about gender and sexual diversity to create more inclusive environments and comprehensive care for the LGBTQ+ community.

Contact me to discuss your specific needs and areas of interest, and I will tailor a workshop or training to meet those goals.

“Your presentation was powerful and extremely moving. You did a fabulous job engaging my graduate students in a heart-felt way that touched them deeply, while being very empowering for them as counselors and social justice agents. Several of my students gained significant understandings about the quality of their lives and issues discussed in the presentation. I highly recommend your presentations!”

I continue to be inspired by Jennifer’s humility, passion, compassion and dedication to working with LGBTQ youth. She is a dynamic, engaging, and knowledgeable presenter who easily connects with her audience and encourages them to think critically. She gave a presentation on Trauma in the Transgender community to my graduate class, which was extremely well-received by the students and accompanied by glowing reviews. The San Diego community is incredibly fortunate to have her expertise!

“Jennifer came to our high school to provide consultation to mental health counselors and guidance counselors on the topic of transgender youth. She has a very respectful and experienced approach to work with LGBTQ+ communities. She was also very helpful in guiding the team to find community resources for youth and their families. As a mental health clinical supervisor at a school setting, I was trilled to have the opportunity to consult with Jennifer and truly enjoyed our conversation. This is a great option for County-funded clinics to meet their yearly requirements for cultural competence training.”
Mayumi Y. Douglass, M.S., LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AAMFT-Approved Clinical Supervisor

“Working at a community clinic, I was often referred clients of varying needs and goals. I quickly realized there was a sparse number of clinicians with adequate training for working specifically with the needs of trans youth and their families. I was fortunate enough to participate in an ongoing consultation group lead by Jennifer and was inspired by her passion, as well as the youth I was working with, to change this statistic. With her guidance, I broadened my knowledge and clinical skills working with trans youth and their families presenting with needs ranging from psychoeducation about resources and rights to gender therapy. I found Jennifer’s empathic approach inviting and her vast knowledge contributed to my clinical development and growth. I feel like a more knowledgeable and confident therapist since working with her. I would recommend Jennifer to any trainee, intern or licensed professional looking to broaden their understanding of working with individuals in the LGBTQ community.”
